Hei! I’m Ting-Wei Chen.
I’m the principal flutist of
Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra working and living in Norway.
Born in Taipei in 1990, internationally acclaimed flutist Ting-Wei Chen performs as soloist, chamber musician and solo flutist of Oslo Philharmonic. The Engagements have taken him to the most prestigious concert halls: Vienna Musikverein, London’s Albert Hall, New York’s Carnegie Hall, Berlin Konzerthaus, Hamburg Elbphilharmonie, Paris Philharmonie among others.
He has received numerous 1st prizes at international competitions including Budapest International Flute Competition in Hungary, Friedrich Kuhlau Flute Competition in Germany and International Competition for Japanese and Bulgarian Music in Bulgaria.
Since 2020 he lectures flute for the concert study (Konzertfach) at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna.

Also, I’m passionate about teaching.
There’s nothing more precious than sharing music with potential musicians and enjoy this common language - music - together. The motivation of making beautiful music delights our lives and makes the world more connected. We will have fun working on music itself, also working on the embouchure, sound quality, body development or performance training. I am looking forward to seeing and listening to you.
